Suppression of the Shear Viscosity as QCD Cools Into a Confining Phase
Yoshimasa Hidaka (Brookhaven Nat'l Lab)

We explore real time behavior of QCD at finite temperature near Tc. In particular we focus on the viscosity. Lattice simulations indicate that the expectation value of the renormalized Polyakov loop is near one at temperatures several times Tc, but much smaller near T_c. We show the viscosity is suppressed by the Polyakov loop decreasing. This suggests that entropy over T^3 decreases markedly as QCD cools down to temperatures near Tc.
