Controlled entanglement of quantum degenerate atoms
Li You (Georgia Institute of Technology)

The technology for atomic Bose-Einstein condensation & Fermi degeneracy and the ability of the coherent control of their interactions can be used to generate massive entangled atoms. The potential application of such entanglement in quantum information science constitutes one of the most promising research avenues of cold atoms. In this talk we will discuss several robust and efficient protocols developed in recent years for the generation of quantum correlated atomic states. We will discuss the entanglement and correlation properties of such states, contrasting the indistinguishable nature of the identical atoms with that of distinguishable particles.
