Deconfined quantum criticality and underdoped cuprates
Senthil Todadri (MIT)

I will discuss aspects of the physics of two dimensional quantum magnetism with an eye toward understanding the underdoped cuprates. The main focus will be the phenomenon of deconfined quantum criticality that has been studied recently. I show how this notion helps refine and may also help evaluate existing theoretical ideas on the cuprates.
