Inflation: An Open and Shut Case

No boundary proposal can lead in a natural way to amplitudes for both closed and open universes without having to fine tune the scalar potential or assume it has a false vacuum. Including a four form from 11d supergravity, one can explain why the cosmological constant today is tiny but maybe not exactly zero.
