Science and the Art of Visualization
Dr. Sara Diamond, Banff New Media Institute & UCLA

Visualization can be a tool to share knowledge across scientific disciplines, to "see" the invisible in ways that it can be theorized or tested, or to create works of beauty and expression. The Banff New Media Institute's A.R.T. Laboratories bring together artists, designers, scientists and mathematicians in collaborate research projects. Sara Diamond, their Director, will share their and her work in visualization and quantum informatics, language visualization, grid computing and collaboration and vision experiments. She will discuss the fast prototyping environment of Banff and the ways that it allows iterative experimentation in the sciences and arts.

The Banff New Media Institute is a unique international research and creative environment in the Rocky Mountains of Canada.
