Together with Oded Schramm and Wendelin Werner, Greg Lawler wrote many of the foundational papers on the Schramm-Loewner evolution, for which Werner was awarded the Fields Medal (the most prestigious prize in mathematics) this year. Lawler will give an elementary pedagogical introduction to this work.
